One on one cooking lessons With just a little practice your cooking skills will eventually become instinctive. As with anything, the more you practice the better you become. You will come to be familiar and comfortable working with knives and fire, kitchen equipment and raw ingredients. You will no longer see a mixture of random ingredients laid out before you. You will begin to see and imagine the possibilities of these ingredients and how they can be transformed. Eventually you will be able to imagine in your head exactly how to arrange and assemble your own dishes. Once you have practiced the basic steps of cooking and utilize the ‘always on hand’ essentials in your kitchen pantry, these ingredients will be nothing more than your ‘painting palette’. Cooking ultimately is not about following a recipe. It is a creative expression that the cook wishes to share with others. Therefore, you will not typically find a recipe waiting for you at your classes. Rather, the classes will focus on organization, prepping, execution and plating. You will taste, feel and listen to the food while it is being prepared and cooked. These steps will be repeated throughout the class to ensure the final result is a harmonious dish.
